Turquoise waters, endless sun and stunning scenery – this is paradise. We caught up with Jessie Bush from We The People Style in Greece, and asked her to share some of her favourite destinations, foods and packing essentials for a week of island hopping and tzatziki indulging.
Greece contains more than 6000 islands – which one was your favourite and why? It’s a tie between Folegandros and Zakynthos. Folegandros is one of the most dreamy destinations I’ve ever discovered; tiny, quaint, and with some of the clearest water imaginable. Zakynthos is more of an adventure; Shipwreck cove is a bucket-list worthy visit, and the island itself has a lot more small beaches that are waiting to be explored.
We love Greek food! Do you have a favourite? And did you try the famous ‘Ouzo’? It has to be freshly-made tzatziki. Can’t be beat. Yes, locals are all-too-keen to give you a shot of ouzo, or even a carafe, although it’s a little bit too strong for my tastes.
What to pack for Greece? Too many bikinis. Good sunblock. A decent stack of books and magazines. A dress you can throw on top of anything to transition into the evening. And a snorkel!
When we think of Greece we think of white & blue houses, beautiful sunsets and crystal clear water. What is Greece to you? What words describes it best? All of the above. When I think of Greece I think of driving motorbikes through warm sea breezes and through tiny townships to find that hidden cove, with water so clear you’ll swear it’s glass. Take me back!
We feel like you are always traveling. What is it about traveling that you love? The freedom and adventure of discovering somewhere new. I have the travel itch, and I’ve not been able to scratch it yet. I’m always looking for the next dream spot!
